Long time!

Hey guys,
Sorry I haven't been posting much lately. Just busy with life. I haven't even really taken the time to sit down and make any cards! I should really get on that if I want to finish my project in time for Christmas! I am still trying to find boxes to use. Stampin Up has some but they're just too much money for such a small box. And I was thinking it would be cool if they could be big enough to hold store bought cards for when they buy some fun cards/ run out of my lovely home made ones! If you have any ideas about where I could find a good card box, PLEASE let me know! I was thinking of just using photo boxes but they're not really tall enough.

On Sunday afternoon, I went to LBF's and scrapbooked with his fine Momma. It was so much fun! I only got one page done, but we came up with a general idea for another page. Expect a lot of sparkle haha! If you have any cute "love" or relationship quotes, share em with me! I don't want to journal on this specific page, and was thinking that a nice quote might be nice so the page isn't so empty.
(will post a pic of the finished page soon!)

A couple weekends ago, LBF and I helped my cousin and his wife move in to their new place. I'm so happy for them, and we've already been over to hang out and watch a hockey game. The random singing session was also fun! This is the card I made them :) (Don't mind the random foreground haha!)

Having some fun!

This weekend was a pretty busy one for me. On Saturday, I went to the Exposure Show at the International Centre and listened to a seminar called "Beyond Auto Mode." Between the seminar and browsing the amazing and overwhelming selection of products at the show, this event definitely made me want the Nikon D5100 even more! I can't wait until I can get it! Oh the fun I'll have experimenting with it.

After the show, the BFF and I went to Jack Astor's for an early dinner and then came back to my place to hang out. K and KEYZ were over (and half of them sick!) and it was nice to get to see them for a little bit. Z made us play Shulbak (no clue how to spell that) with him. I forgot how fun that game is! Then we went upstairs, put on the Borne Identity, and made some cards. At first I was going to work on a craft for my room, but I can't find the right quote for it. I made some more cards for the Christmas Presents, and started a fun card that I am thinking of also putting in the Presents.

On Sunday, LBF and I went to the Ski, Snowboard and Travel show. I knew it was a bad idea! I ended up buying a sick board and even more awesome bindings. I'm pretty nervous to start boarding again - it's been probably 4 or 5 years since I went last. Let's hope LBF is patient with me! I know I'm probably going to get grumpy -  I always do when I can't do something properly right away. Let's hope I have as just much patience as he'll need!

I know it's not a full length shot, but I realized after I put the
camera away that the full length shot was wonky.

Anyways I hope you had a great Monday and I can't wait to share some of the other fun crafts I've made lately. I've been too busy to post, but I have them saved up and ready to post for you :)
What'd you do this weekend? <3

Moustaches and Doilies oh my!

Many Moustaches
Daffodil Delight, Marina Mist, Early Espresso, Tangerine Tango

On Saturday, I got together with my fave gals and did a marathon card making session! I don’t think I’ve made that many cards in such little time before (and trust me, I didn’t even make that many)! After we finally got settled in, we were probably at it for about 2 or 3 hours? I got 11 cards made! Hahaha 16 mins a card… At any rate, we (at least I did) had a blast and it was nice to have some girl time :)

Delicate Doilies
Lucky Limeade, Perfect Plum, Early Espresso

I am putting one of each card into the Christmas Presents, and keeping the rest for my card box! I made 3 card styles that day; the third was a quicker version of the LBF’s birthday card. I have to say I’m pretty excited with how well the Presents are going! The fact that I actually have motivation to do them is pretty sweet, and it also helps that I’m stocking up my own dwindling card collection at the same time. K and I have been trying to get together at least once a week to make cards, and it really is helping me get stuff done! K has been so amazing to me! Last night she picked me up from work since the LBF had to work late. She dropped me off and grabbed some paper to help me cut and prep for a show I have on Sunday since I have had a splitting headache all week. It’s so awesome to know I have friends who will look out for me and help me out when they can! And I definitely hope they know I try to do the same for them.

Here’s to great friends, good times and fun cards!

ps - for everyone that keeps asking, LBF = Lovely Boyfriend!

Blog my Heart

Today I'm going to share some topics that have been on my heart lately.

  • I just found a blog One Happy Mama (who gave me the idea for Blog Your Heart) that shared her family's struggle with her daughters diagnosis of Diabetes Type 1. I had never really understood just how scary diabetes can actually be. I've met so many people that have diabetes and seem to be doing well that I never took the time to research it and honestly didn't feel like it was ''that bad'' of a disease. Let me just say I have changed my mind! I am praying for OHM and her family, and that research on Type 1 will be productive in the coming years.

  • Things with the LBF are going so well! If you told me a year ago that I would have such an amazing relationship with this man, I sure wouldn't have believed you! He's so supportive of me and my current obstacles and I have to say, it sure makes me feel good knowing how much my goals mean to him. The generosity he shares not only for me, but for my family and friends is so appreciated. I don't know if he fully understands just how much it means to me!
Because of my main goal right now, we have been staying in a LOT and I think we've both been getting a little cabin fever. Today I made a HUGE chunk of my goal and right after, my Fajah Mahadi (daddy) texted me with free tickets for a TFC game on Tuesday. I'm not a huge soccer fan, but free? plans? Yes please! I also got an email for a bed n breakfast Jaunt in Muskoka and LBF has asked me to book it for us!! I love having plans on the horizon. Gives me something to look forward to. The problem with that is trying to remind myself to live in today, not the future, and be grateful for each day and what we can do in the time we have. Remembering to stop and smell the roses every day is something I need to work on!

  • I can't say a whole lot about this subject, but work. Oh work. Would you please pray for me?

  • There is nothing I enjoy more than making cards for my friends and family, but I really want to get back into scrapbooking. I have SO many pages I need to do, but I have been so busy trying to get caught up with cards and stocking my box of cards!

  • Sleep.. I love to sleep. But I got a fun email the other day with some great advice, and one of those pieces of advice was to not sleep so much that you miss life. (When I find the email I'll update this!) This sounds like advice I really need to start taking, and I think I'm going to try my best at heeding it! Yes, I'd rather try to go to bed at a reasonable hour so I'm not tired the next day, but I seem to be tired no matter what time I go to bed.. So why not make the fatigue worthwhile??
Anyways it's time for bed! (hahahaha no joke it's 10:18pm!) And as much as I'd love to stay and tell you more about what is on my mind, I think you have probably heard enough. Thanks for listening, and feel free to share with me what I could pray for you for - whether a praise or a request!
Have a great night! <3

Christmas Present Project

I am working on a little Christmas Present project right now for 2 special people in my life. This project will be a divided box with various themed cards. I was hesitant to put too much information about the project on my blog, but you know what? The people I am making them for probably won't guess it, and they probably don't read every blog post, as much as I'd like them to!
Here are the first cards I made tonight for the presents!

Thinking of you

Thinking of you

Last night I made a card for LBF's God Parents. After looking online, I realize it should say Je pense a toi,
but it's in the mail so there's no changing it now! Maybe time to invest in a french stamp set! I've got two in mind and can't decide which one to choose. What one do you think I should get?

I can't believe how slacker I have been the past week. I STILL haven't done the card box tutorial. I have yet to complete the paint touchups in my room, which means there are no curtains in my room! The streetlights outside make it feel like it's still daylight when I go to bed.

On another note, I am now addicted to a website called Pintrest. If you haven't heard of it, I suggest you check it out. It's images people see on websites (craft ideas, wall art, etc) so if you like it and want to find out more about it, you can just click on the picture and it can take you there! I may have found some amazing posters and ideas for my room through here! So excited to try some of the cool things I've found!

Anyways, have a great day! And PLEASE give me your feedback about the stamp sets!

Weekend Project!

I wish I had some before pictures to show you, but I think most of you have seen my room already! LBF and I stayed in town this weekend and did a half-makeover on my room. So amazing how so little can make such a big change. (now time for a nap!)

I got a new bed recently and my new sheets did NOT match my Candy Cane Red accent wall!! Also, my BFF's boyfriend made me a tv stand that I needed to get in place and organize.
My LBF helped me paint the wall and get everything else set up just right. I'm SO happy with how it looks!

The new half of my room :D

Still need to figure out what to do above my bed -
picture collage isn't working since I took half of it down to install a shelf!

Owl Punch hallowe'en

I saw this card and just had to share! What a creative way to use our beloved Owl Punch!

I don't even make Hallowe'en cards, but I might just have to make something with this.

This was made by a demonstrator named Misty Lee Berry in NB. I tried to see if she has a blog so I could share, but I couldn't find one.. Anyways, here's her card/treat box (hard to tell)

Scrapbook Course!

Sorry folks!
I've been so busy with work and just life in general, that I keep forgetting to forward the start of my tutorial on the awesome card box I made for my cousin's wedding!
Once I actually remember to forward it (hopefully tomorrow?), I will post the tutorial.

I have been asked to run a Scrapbooking class on Wednesday nights starting the end of September, and I want to do it so badly! The problem is, no one has registered yet! If you know anyone who might be interested, PLEASE get them in touch with me ASAP so I can give them all the information!

I should also start planning for my cousin's Stampin Up! show in September! I'm excited for her show and can't wait for a fun day of card making with the ladies! I have one or two ideas but am not set on anything in particular yet.. I just want to be organized before the day so I can make sure I have everything I need! If you, or anyone you know, is interested in hosting a Stampin Up! show to earn free products and have a great time with friends, give me a shout :) I'd love to demonstrate some awesome techniques for you! I have so much fun doing the shows and I know everyone enjoys themselves while they're there.

On a random side note, I have had paint for my room for almost two months now and STILL haven't gotten around to painting the one wall! How bad is that? I have been slowly but surely decluttering and trying to reorganize my room, and the rate I'm going is so slow I feel like I'm getting nowhere! It's really hard to have your craft room in your bedroom because if you don't clean up your craft stuff, your whole room looks so messy! My friends' boyfriend is building me a new TV stand and I am so excited to get it. This means I can finally get rid of some of my ugly storage units and convert other storage to craft storage! Good news all around if you ask me!
Do you have your own room for your crafting, or is it in part of another room in your house? What type of crafts do you like to do most? If you have any great organization ideas for craft supplies, I'd love to hear them!

Some Wedding Cards!

I wanted to post a few pictures of some of the wedding cards I have made recently. I am so upset that Stampin Up! retired the set of the bride and groom I have used in these cards, and I haven't even tried to make a wedding card without it. Maybe I should move forward and give it a shot!

Welcome Baby Card!

I have to admit.. I started to write a post about this card over a year ago when my cousin was pregnant. Clearly, I never ended up posting this entry! I saw the draft and just had to share this card with you. This card was fun to make, and didn't take too long. I'm sad that Stampin Up! discontinued this stamp set, but there are a few other really cute sets that you could use in place of it, such as Fox & Friends or Furry Folk. The punch for the film strip is from the big M store.

Welcome Baby
Animal Stories, Chocolate Chip, Basic Grey

Latest Workshop

My neighbour hosted a show on Tuesday night. I had a lot of fun and really hope everyone else enjoyed the evening. We made two cards, and although there were no new 'techniques' to share, they were just fun cards to make!

Tri Fold Shutter Card
Aviary, Delicate Doilies, Old Olive, Perfect Plum, Early Espresso, Crumb Cake

I got the template for this from a birthday card I received from a friend this year. I'm going to post the measurements in another post.

Sail Boat Card
The Open Sea, Marina Mist, Basic Grey, Not Quite Navy, Word Window Punch

The Open Sea stamp set will only be available until August 31, so if you like this card, I'd suggest you order it soon!!!

PS - I am trying not to use the names of family and friends to respect their privacy. This is definitely not me being rude by not naming names! If you're okay with me using your names, please let me know!

Beginning of my Baking Recipe Book

I'm using Melon Mambo, Wild Wasabi, Crumb Cake, and Chocolate Chip and would love to use the lace border punch on the pages. I haven't glued the titles down yet and am thinking of ways to design the pages. If you can think of any techniques or ideas for a layout, please let me know! I'd love to hear your thoughts.

Beautiful Ladies

I have to say, it is definitely a lot easier for me to come up with girly birthday cards than it is guy cards. It is fun to be able to use whatever colours you want and not have to worry about whether it is too girly or not!

I love taking the simplest stamps or layouts and being able to create beautiful, sentimental cards easily.

My cousin's wife brought up her stamps on the weekend and we had a few minutes to play around with them. I went out of my comfort zone and created a more vintage look than I normally do. Maybe that was a bad idea, because now I want those stamp sets!!

There's something about black and white that I love, and I enjoy adding a splash of colour to it every once in a while.

The stamp set I used for this card is called Sweet Scoops and it's the cutest ice cream stamp set I've ever seen! It was a limited edition stamp set and I'm kind of sad I didn't buy it, Kim is nice enough to share her stamps with me :) I saw the idea for the bears on a Stampin Up website and had to try it. LOVE the results!!

New Melon Mambo and Tangerine Tango embossing powder with the Fifth Avenue Floral set and Wild Wasabi accents.. this is one of my favourite cards!

Hello Again/ For the men in my life

Birthday card for Baloo. I'm so grateful to have such an awesome boyfriend!
I hope he had a great day celebrating with his friends and I.

So I realize I haven't posted anything in almost two years! This post is going to be a rather long one in terms of how many pictures are on it. I know a few people who don't have facebook and would like to be able to see my cards and show them to others, so this is the perfect outlet for that.

I have been a Stampin Up demonstrator since June 2009 and have been enjoying my time going to shows and just stamping at home. The past year I haven't done too many shows, and I miss it!
I actually have my first one in 4 or 5 months this coming week... I will post photos of the things we make next week.

This group of photos does not have any step-by-step images, but if you have a question about any technique, colour, measurement, etc that I use, please feel free to ask.

90% of these cards were designed by me, the other 10% I have borrowed and modified from online sources when I can't come up with a design. Please ask me first if you would like to use any of my designs for retail use. Thank you for understanding that I would like my credit where it's due! From now on I will also be posting links to the artists with the cards I get ideas from.

Father's day card. I'm so lucky to have such an awesome, generous,
and caring Fajah. I love him to bits.

Sorry some of the images aren't the best quality. I haven't had the chance to edit any of them, and some of them were taken on my iPhone.

<3 Thanks for stopping by!
